Default Defending champ limping out of gate.

Need some help here. Getting slaughtered to a bottom feeder my first week. Hits and blocks very concerning. Goaltending and scoring should figure itself out.

I drafted Hakanpaa but am concerned with the stars crowded blue line and this hit machines deployment.

    Wire options:

R Graves ( top pairing with Hamilton atm)
McNabb (lots of blocks and hits)
    Whitecloud (McNabb numbers)
Bunting ( 6 hits and showing some hands)
Zub (less of the same from above D)
Jaskin ( offensive upside 5 hits first game)
Kolesar ( 13 hits to begin season)

    Drops

Beauvillier (might wait a bit longer)
Rakell (playing with Zegras in contract year)
Pinto (looks like c1 to me but will take time)
Jarvis (likely not much contribution this year)
Hakanpaa (not gonna play a lot of mins)
Lundkvist (might take a while to adjust and contribute offensively.

Any thoughts on how to best right this ship early? I’m thinking of dropping Beauvillier for Bunting (hits). Dropping Hakinpaa for McNabb and Lundkvist for Graves or Whitecloud and also cutting Jarvis and possibly Pinto if he doesn’t get on the board in the next few games which will open up a spot for an extra winger that can throw the body, like Jaskin or Kolesar.

I don't think Lundkvist or Jarvis will make much of an impact this year or arguably next year - so assuming it isn't a keep 15 or a system that lets you keep prospects for free those two would be my drops.

As for adds, I think I'd be grabbing Graves and McNabb and I'd be open to rotating those out for spot starts throughout the season. Your offense looks pretty well set up so I don't think you need someone like Jasklin or Bunting who gives less peripherals in exchange for points.

We keep 18 and the league is 14 teams. I’m in agreement about the limited production from Lundkvist and Jarvis though. Those guys need to go if I’m gonna have a chance to repeat this year.

Its too early to worry. I like Kolesar’s potential especially while Vegas has injury problems. He will give more than Jarvis this year

Think Dugan gets a call-up with the injuries? Man, I hope so.

The season isn't won or lost on week one. Most teams have played what, two games so far, some only one. Give it time.

Thanks boys. I know it’s to early to panic but the lack of hits and blocks are making me tear my hair out. I cut Martinez and PLD in the off season so I haven’t really addressed this other than Hakanpaa but I should have thought more on him seeing as how he’s with Dallas now.

Jaskin was scratched last game and looks like he will be tonight again. I wouldn't take him.

Somebody already beat me to him. Same with Bunting 😢. The silver lining is that buddy who picked up Bunting dropped Evander Kane and I’m fist in waiver order. 🤪 EK could win me another chip if he gets a chance to play again and we all know he will regardless of his issues.
