I like McAvoy but I’m not as high on him as most. I hope he lives up to this contract of course, but I’m not completely sold on it.

Ugh, I own McAvoy in a salary cap keeper league. He better make use of that PP1 TOI or he's getting kicked to the curb for that cap hit.

That's a great deal for the arguably the best dman in the NHL. He's leagues better than all of Werenski, Jones and Nurse.

Outside of Makar and Hamilton, he’s miles better than all of them. Outside of Makar, he’s significantly younger than all of them.

I would say this 'feels' high to some because we are just getting used to the new market, but when you consider the other names who signed for 9, I don't think Boston made a mistake here. 9.5 would have seemed too much a year ago before the market changed. I don't think McAvoy asks for or gets 9.5 if Seth Jones doesn't get his deal with Chicago, as well as the other big name dmen this offseason.
