Chase the Ace (Cup) - Fun Idea

A buddy said he hear this idea on Elliot Friedman's podcast.

1) Draft a group of NHL Teams.

2) Tampa bay starts with the 'ace' (cup) because they were the Stanley Cup winner last season.

3) If Tampa Bay wins against Pittsburgh then they retain the ace (cup).
If Tampa Bay loses against Pittsburgh then Pittsburgh now holds the ace (cup)

4) There can be two winners.
1) Whoever drafted the group of teams then held the ace (cup) for the most days during the season (excluding the Olympic Break)
2) Whoever has the team that is holding the ace (cup) at the end of the regular season.


Fun idea I figured I would share

And if there is a group that has time this afternoon/early evening to rip through a draft and give it a go... I am game!

Just read about this in Friedman's 32 Thoughts and really dig it. Fun concept that's really mostly about picking who will finish with the best record(s)... but with a little variable based on team-vs-team season records.

No time to partake but would be down for this 100% for next year.
