While Kakko should see an uptick in minutes due to Buchnevich's departure, I feel like Minnesota will do everything in their power to ensure Rossi succeeds. Apparently, Rossi was NHL-ready in his draft year which and should provide the additional offence the Wild is desperate for. The Wild were waiting so long for Kaprizov to arrive. It only feels right that their top C of the future is finally making his debut.

I would swing for the fences with Rossi, here.
    Good luck!

I lean Rossi, although there are clear pros and cons for each of them.

I'm in the same camp here. I also own Rossi, so there's that.

what would a clear pro for Kakko be? other then the fact that Rossi missed all year which is his con..

The biggest pro that I see for Kakko.... is that he is playing on a line with Panarin in training camp!

Players of Kakko's height generally take longer to acclimate and if he can grow into his size and re-demonstrate the skills he showed in Liiga, then that package might be more productive than Rossi. Plus the team around Kakko stands to be far better for the next few years than Rossi's, which stands to elevate Kakko's scoring. We all assume that Rossi will center Kaprizov but it wouldn't be far fetched for the Wild to eventually spread things out to try to have two functioning lines and put Rossi with Shane Churla and Basil McRae or whomever. Kakko has not had myocarditis and there's no reason to suspect that there is any weakening of his heart muscle.
