What are we expecting from him this year? Is he going to go back to what he was with Ekblad back in the fold or can we expect the same kind of production out of Weegar this year?

Even with Yandle gone, I think Weeager won't hit his pro-rated high from last year. With a healthy Ekblad I think Weegar will still have a bit of a step back.
    I'm thinking 30-35 Pts over 82 games.

My guess would be 40-45 points. Nice peripherals.

I think Montour is likely to have more impact offensively but we will see.

A solid top-pairing defenseman on a good team can generally get 30-35pts even-strength.
Weegar's not really a PP guy... he might get spot play for 5ppp.
I think he'll be 35-40pts when season is done.

Always check the even-strength and power-play point totals for Dmen.
Occasionally, they just have a really good even-strength year when everything they touch turns into a golden apple (Assist).

I once owned Josh Manson in a keeper league in 2018 summer and sold him for a 3rd round pick.
He had just come off a very Weegar-like year where he put up 37pts... but all even-strength.

People said "Oh wow, I would've given you a 2nd round pick for Manson".
And I'm like "You're crazy, I'm happy to get a 3rd..." (knowing he'd never put up 37pts again.

Since then, he has a 16pt year... and 16pts in the past two partials totalling 73gp.

    Weegar's a bit like Manson.
He's a good D... and just happened to have a bunch of assists cashed in on.
But don't expect, because he's young, that the point total will go up.

Range of 35-45 points. Plus some other cats sprinkled in. Very rosterable. Good luck

It would help if we knew the league format but bottom line, in pts only Weegar has less value, I agree a range of 35 - 45 sounds right. that's not bad, but it's certainly not top tier. In a multi cat, Weegar's value increases with his contribution to multiple scoring cats and he is a very solid own.

Good thing I traded him to those Dryden Eagles.

Manson never had any offensive chops whatsoever, and his 37 point season was an obvious fluke/outlier. Even Ducks fans acknowledged that at the time. Well done on getting value for him despite how obvious that was. Weegar on the other hand is an offensive Dman that was slow cooked and I expect a very different outcome compared to Manson. IMO he’s at least a 35-40 point dman even without significant PP time and I have a feeling he’ll manage to get some PP time going forward.
