I don't love giving up Addison, but honestly... I rather have Reinhart than Laine, and I MUCH rather Ekblad than Smith.. so yeah, i do that deal.
League details below:
My Laine, Ty Smith and Calen Addison
for
Sam Reinhart, Ekblad, Troy Terry
Points only keeper dynasty. My team is one year out of a complete rebuild, I feel I have the players to start pushing for a win for the next few years.
Every week we play 12 fwds / 6 D / 1 Goalie. We also have a bench of approx 11 players and 2 goalies who we can switch out weekly.
My best players are:
Sebastian Aho / B Point / Johnny Gaudreau / Lafraniere / Laine / M.Stone / A Svechnikov / Teravainen / R.Strome
Dahlin / Chabot / Ty Smith / Gustaffson.
Hellebyuck / Samsonov in net
My D drop depth is Calen Adison, Sean Walker, Myers, Gardiner. Hoping Adison will turn in to a solid D but essentially i am playing Walker / Myers / E. Gustaffson every week, switching out as required, based on schedule or hot streaks.
My fwd drop depth consists of playing Mikheyev, Anders Lee, Tom Wilson, J.Drouin depending on the week ahead
I think this trade gives me the better D in Ekblad and additional forward depth by scooping up Terry. IÂ’m not sure what to think of Calen Addison, IÂ’ve held on to him for a while and feel he is still 1 year away..from what type of upside IÂ’m not sure.
Laine could certainly pop for 40 goals, and he could get traded to a great situation a year from now but his 44 goal season is a few years back now and Reinhart hasnÂ’t been a slouch. Even if Laine hits his upside, will he be that much better than Reinhart? Reinhart could have a few career years in Florida now.

If you are in win now mode you do this. Reinhart and Laine is very likely a wash. In adding Ekblad you add a bonafide high tier defencmen, a significant upgrade in the near term on both Addison and Smith who both have a long way to go and a lot left to prove. Terry is nice also, I wouldn't expect much this year but he is, as you said, a nice depth piece.

Simply, yes. Ekblad is the key piece.

12-team, H2H. Keep 12, but drop 2 of top four skaters, and also 2 of next six, then five more (from end-of-year rankings). One GK max.

Keller, Doughty, Verhaeghe, ErikssonEk
E.Lindholm, Barzal, J.Gaudreau, Huberdeau, S. Wright
Gustavsson
Points only, so Reinhart > Laine, Ekblad >> Smith (Hamilton, Hughes,... sorry, Smith). I prefer Addison over Terry, but you have to give to get, and that's not giving a lot for what you are getting in return. Do the trade.
Likely have to trim it a bit, removing Troy Terry from the deal
So it’s Laine/Smith/Addison for Reinhart/Ekblad.
I think it’s still worth doing..boy it feels odd trading Laine for Reinhart though. I had high hopes for Laine being a 40 goal scorer but I suppose Reinhart is entering his prime years too. Are we feeling Reinhart is a 70-80 pts threat in FL?
Referring to dobbers fantasy guide, there still seems to be 40 pts being projected for ty smith, which is not far off from the 50 or projection of Ekblad. So, am I missing something?

8-Team Points-Only Keeper League

No positional requirements for Forwards
Farm System of 3 Players
Fwds - Rantanen, Kaprizov, Pettersson, J. Hughes, Ovechkin, Malkin, A. Svechnikov, Forsberg, Reinhart, Keller, Gaudreau, Hagel, Eklund
Def - Q. Hughes, Josi, Theodore, Morrissey, Dunn, Letang, Burns, Matheson, York, Thrun
Goalies - Shesterkin, Jarry
Farm - Benson, Hutson, Nikishin
Ended up with me trading away:
Laine/ty smith/Addison
For
Reinhart/ekblad/Ethan bear
I’m shallower at D, so I don’t mind Ethan bear, since he showed some offense and could be a depth guy down the line for me or situational starts where he has a high volume of games.
Hedging my bets that ty smith doesn’t work around Hamilton to be the guy in NJD, but overall with Hughes coming in as well, I feel Ekblad is a much more stable asset.
Time to start rooting for Florida.
