Trade Overpayment???

what do you guys think about the following trade that happened in one of my leagues. The league is H2H, dynasty, salary cap league with the following skaters categories: G, A, '+/-, PIM,SOG, PPP, SHP, Hits, Blks, FO%, and with a roster of 25 with 33 prospects (under 111 games).

Team 1 received: Kirill Kaprizov

Team 2 received: Mark Stone, Cody Glass, Kirill Tuytyayev, Samual Poulin, Carter Verhaeghe, Lucas Raymond and 2022 1st round pick.

Is Kaprizov really that good??

Oh man... no, Kaprizov is not that good.
He's fantastic, but not worth that overpay.
He wasn't really a "rookie" last year... but this IS something we see in fantasy leagues.
Somebody sees some "rookie scoring" total... and decides that total is bound to increase by 20% or 30% because "rookie scoring always goes up and up".

Ooof.
I mean, Stone/Raymond is quite possibly an overpayment. To get a 1st, Verhaeghe, and Glass... awesome. And Poulin's got some great upside too. And Tuytyayev just speaks to suggest how deep the player pool is in this league. He's not owned in my Keep720 player pool.
If I'm in this league... I'm pretty steamed about this... because TeamStone got a huge rake.

Wow. Thinking more about it, in a cap-league, even just Verhaeghe on top of Stone is probably an overpayment.

Yes, it's an overpay. Don't think it's veto worthy though. I've definitely seen worse trades.

The only way I could stretch this into the realm of reasonable is if the one team was somehow way over the roster limits and needed to unload some players. That seems unlikely though.

Massive overpay.
Also something seems off by that trade. Like enough so that I would be questioning the trade and wondering if these 2 GM's have something else at play.

I own Kap (and have had him sitting in my MLP bench for 4 damn years) and I would do that trade in a heartbeat...granted I already have Stone, Verhaege and Glass on my team but still lol.

I mean, it's not blatant to the point of auto veto, but...if someone made that trade in my league, I would be asking questions and talking to others in the league and see their thoughts.
