I think Shesterkin and Caufield are fine young keepers. Both are in excellent situations.
10 Team Yahoo H2H Keep 5 (3 Forward, 1D, 1G or 2D) + 2 Rookies (under 83GP)
Looking for some advice on my keepers for the upcoming season. I’m coming off a win last year and am happy with my keepers, just looking for any advice on how to structure them moving forward. My locks are:
Mackinnon (C)
Panarin (LW)
Svechnikov (LW/RW)
Makar (D)
Carlson (D)
What I’m having trouble deciding are my rookies. I have to choose 2 out of the 3 below.
Shesterkin (G)
Caufield (RW)
C.Petersen (G)
I’m leaning toward Shesterkin and Caufield, but also considering Petersen as quality goalies in this league are hard to come by and going into the draft with 2 already would allow me to focus on F/D. Any advice on this would be great! Cats are G,A,PPP,SOG,HITS,BLKS,W,SV%,SAVES

Shesterkin Caufield, LA won't be good for a while still IMO

Shesterkin isn't a hard choice to make. He's easily one of the two.
Caufield vs Petersen is a LOT closer for me as I like both going forward. LA is building a beast down there and Petersen is the long term answer for that team. Caufield is also a good long term piece as well. He's going to be their top line winger for years.
If goalies are hard to come by, I'd keep Petersen and look to re-draft Caufield. Caufield may be the better short term return but I believe Petersen will be the better player long term in your setup.

I'm struggling to understand how goalies in a keep 5, keep only 1 goalie, 10 team league, are hard to come by? In a 16 Team dynasty start 2 Goalies, ya, Goalies are hard to come by. (:
In my opinion that still leaves an good number of goalies available for the draft and lets face it, there are very few rookie goalies that are going to be fantasy relevant in this year (Shesterkin is one BTW). Other than a handful of goalies, Vasi, Hellebuyck and maybe Lehner, all the rest are pretty much a crap shoot. IMO, Petersen fits the crap shoot profile. You know your league, but I'm thinking there are a lot of draftable goalie options, including Petersen, to be had. If 10 goalies and a handful of rookie Goalies are off the table, what does that leave? Lots of solid options IMO. If 20 rookies are off the table I would be very surprised if Caulfield would be available if he was owned by another GM.
My opinion only, but I'm keeping Shesterkin and Caulfield and then drafting accordingly.

Shesterkin and Caufield for me as well.
Both players have a chance to become very special at their respective position and while Petersen is a fine young goalie, I don't see the same upside in terms of elite numbers.
Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.
The issue to me is that Petersen is almost certainly a keep for only this year. as he's 29 games away. Caufiled has a chance to be kept again next year, as he's at 10 games, and playing only 72 out of 82 isn't that far-fetched in a normal season.
So Igor & Caufield for me.
