I didnt look at capfriendly but I am assuming coming off his ELC, and only signing a three year deal, he's still a RFA at the end of this deal. Am I wrong or does deal walk him right into UFA status?Originally Posted by Feenom

He'll still be RFA. To reach UFA you need 7 seasons played (or reach age 27.)

Dahlin owners have to be happy, big time happy. Honestly, I just don't get it. Heiskanen signs an 8 year at 8.45 contract and Dahlin gets 3 years at 6???

3 years to see the direction of the organization and decide whether to commit long term or not. Surprised he wasn't able to get a bit more, so not bad work by Adams. The last year being in the 7s is good for his next deal which should be for a lot more, unless this franchise ruins him which could happen.

Buffalo getting him to sign at all should be seen as a huge win. His value probably has never been and probably never will be lower. So sign three years hope he gets those numbers back up then leave and cash in.
