So if over 50% of Canadians lived in one city it would be fair to let them decide everything for every other province, township and jurisdiction across the entire country, even though they likely would know nothing about each locations particular issues wants and needs. Gotcha.

Currently 40% of the country can do so with the same restraints.

What you're describing is literally the state of Canadian politics at the moment.

    Broken system. Failed state. Yes.

It's weird how Eastern provinces never complain about "Eastern alienation". I wonder why that is.

I'm really interested to see what results would be like if they took names off the ballots - Only keeping the party names

I think that is exactly what happens... people don't care about the name on the ballot they vote for... they only vote for the Party with the leader they want to win.

I would be more interested to see the opposite... if the Parties were removed from the ballot and from the individual... and we voted actually for the person on the ballot as opposed to which leader that person represents.

Voting for policy and platform. What a concept.

There would be no leader on the ballots so are people going to remember what party to vote for? A lot are sticklers to their party regardless of the name. Others to the name regardless of party. I'm interested in the percentage.

I have no interest in seeing the opposite as the person behind it should be irrelevant. It should be the platform you vote on and the person for that party should be carrying out that platform.

The popularity contest is stupid and wasteful.

This election has proven the dumbest people in Canada live in the Toronto area.

    -They don't know their hockey
-They re-elect the biggest idiot PM Canada has ever seen.

    Sorry not sorry

Yes, a great concept if policy and platforms were every upheld rather.

But when the only policy and platform that matters is re-election...

It's an easy fix. Remove Re-election from the equation.

Full reform. With today's tech we can vote on issues individually as they arise. The elected heads should focus on executing our desires, not putting the brakes on everything.

    back to dream land...
