Alexander Radulov, finished or gas left in the tank?

Curious what opinions on Radulov are entering the preseason.

He's 35 now, coming off a year where he had core abdomen surgery and missed almost all of last season.

Some players in the past have had trouble returning from core surgery, especially when they are older. Before the injury last year, Radulov was on over a PPG pace though, with 12 points in 11 games.

But this year, I am not so sure what to expect. It could take him months of the season to get back on track after surgery like that. Or he could still hit the ground running. With his age, it's unlikely he has too many years left. But hoped some folks had some insight.

I think he's something left. As you noted he was PPG before getting hurt, and has been useful before that. So he's very rosterable when you are rostering 540 players.

I think it's fair to say that no one other than the Stars front office and Radulov himself has insight into his "readiness" for this season. However, I'm not going to ignore his accomplishments and I am willing to take a chance on him coming back and playing solid hockey. He may not go PPG, but if he is fully healthy 70 pts is a realistic expectation. There is risk here but there is also potential reward.
