Caufield + 8e overall vs R. Strome

Thinking of proposing this trade and wondering if you think it’s fair ?

I’m in win now mode so I need production this year. But Caufield would be a good asset to own.

Its a cap league so Strome being UFA in a year is problematic in a flat cap situation.

I would give R. Strome
Vs
Caufield and the 8e overall in which I could pickup Sam Bennet or Jared McAnn.

Is this a good move ? Bennet is signed for a few years at a reasonable 4,4m.

In a cap league, I don't think you'll get that return on Strome. RFA contracts are gold, and it will be hard to find many like Caufield. Sure, propose it...just don't bank on it going through.

If the team with Caufield is in a building stage, I'm not even sure you could get Caufield straight up.

I'd want the Caufield side of that by a lot, and I'm a guy who dealt Caufield immediately after drafting him as the big piece to get Benn & Keith. It turned out Keith was the wrong vet D to aim for, but no regrets as I finished first.
