Default Last keeper - Stamkos or Letang?

    League settings in sig.

Right now I'm thinking Kucherov, Stamkos, Shesterkin and Barkov.

Having second thoughts about Stamkos though - i don't love that two slots are taken up by Cs (even though Stamkos is C-RW) and not having a top d-man protected. I can protect Letang. I don't have a LW on the same calibre as either, unfortunately. Letang is of course very injury prone, but so is Stamkos of late...

D and goalies are always the hardest for me to pick, and i always end up making trades to shore up that spot...and I traded for Shesterkin last year with an eye toward protection.

Should I just go with my original plan, and then target LW and D with my first few picks?

I see them both has carrying equal risk of significant time off for injuries and neither is a spring chicken. So I then think about position scarcity. Center is a much deeper position than defense, so for me, I’d opt to keep Letang since you’ll have more options at center come draft time.

True, though Stamkos is C-RW (and I think Yahoo has even classified him at all three before...). If he stays that, though, on most busy nights both Tampa guys are on RW for me - though that may not be a bad thing.

That is my thinking too...drafting d men is super tricky and most of the guys in Letang's calibre are likely protected.

What does the rest of your roster look like? Surely there has to be a couple of other players worth considering.

If the question is just, who's the better keep I think I would lean towards Stamkos.

I am leaning Letang with your categories, but nobody would fault you for opting to go with Stammer.

Go Letang, great year last year and that core will have something to prove in their final hurrah. Crosby being out all training camp might even be a blessing, more rest. I think Letang will have a killer year and he’s even decent in Blos (won’t hurt you).
