    Default Guentzel vs Kaprisov

    For league in sig

Got offered Kaprisov and Boqvist or Valimaki for my Guentzel.

Guentzel is one of the best values at 6 mil and Kaprisov seems special but will cost 9 mil according to rumours.

What do you think? I'd hold off on trading him but I want other opinions.

In a cap league I think Guentzel will have the better value, much better value. 9 Mil for Kaprizov is likely the floor, I wouldn't be surprised if he wants and gets 10 and I honestly consider him a PPG forward. Jake is a PPG player. I'll save myself the 3 or 4 MIL thank you. The 2 D offered are nice but you are in good shape there and have Lundqvist in the on deck circle so it's not like you desperately need one of Boqvist or Valimaki and I don't think they justify in any way taking on Kaprizov's much bigger cap. I'd stick with what you have.

yeah i agree with Bubba. Based just on value this would be a steal but considering the cap i think you keep Guentzel.

I also expect Lundkvist to be as good or better than Boqvist but having both would nto have hurt i guess..its tough question but once again, unless you have cap space to waste, ill keep Guentzel here.

Id lean more toward keeping Guentzel in a deal like this. As they are very similar production wise right now and it is probably better to keep the extra 3M in cap space

Boqvist is a nice upgrade on Valimaki but to me,
Guentzel+3M cap space & Valimaki is worth more than Krill Kaprizov & Boqvist

3M is a lot of space to give up for someone who is only a marginally upgrade. Unless cap space really doesn't mean anything in your league.

    Assuming this is Adam Boqvist...

    So... it's a 2-for-2 deal:

    Side A: Guentzel ($6m) and Your15th&LastKeeperD (lets use Hronek $4.4m). Total Cost = $10.4m
    Side B: Kaprizov ($9m) and AdamBoqvistNew15th ($1m). Total Cost = $10m

I think this is going to shake out pretty close for this year.
But then Boqvist will probably be getting a nice raise to maybe $3m...

So... long range, Guentzel/Hronek is definitely better side... especially if you can improve a keeper on Hronek's production/dollar.

re: Hronek. He might get your 44pts on that $4.4m. And that's my benchmark of production you want from ANY keeper in points-heavy cap-format. You want to get 10pts per $1m.
So... you also have to keep this in mind with Werenski and Q.Hughes.
Werenski is NOT going to get you 96pts next year when he costs $9.58m... so you should be looking to trade him throughout year... and if no takers, he's a pure drop next summer.
Also - we'll see where Quinn Hughes comes in. If he's long-term $7m... he's a maybe keep if you think he can do 70pts... but even that is a lot.

So... you DO need to be thinking about cheaper D.
So be nice to this GM - because Adam Boqvist could be a 35-45pt D-man for CBJ and a nice affordable option.
If he's dangling him now... maybe you can get him later date.
