My tip is to try and make the best pick you can in each round!

hard to know strategy without knowing position... but one piece of advice is to decide on strategy and sick to it...dont adjust mid way...

Position really matters, scoring system, and where you pick.

But with QBs, 16 team league does have a bit of a more dire need for getting a good one. The QB tiers for me would be

    Tier 1: Mahomes, Allen
    Tier 1.5: Murray Jackson
Tier 2: Dak, Wilson, Rodgers, Herbert
    Tier 3: Tannehill, Stafford, Ryan
Tier 4: Hurts, Cousins, Mayfield, Roethlisberger, Hurts, Burrow

So you can see there's a big drop off between tier 2 to 3 and 3 to 4. I wouldn't really be too happy about going into a yr with Cousins as my QB in a 16 teamer unless I got him super late because other teams over drafted QBs allowing you to pick other positions that dropped.

So found out the draft order will be randomly set 1 hr prior to the draft. Super unhelpful all around…

Whats your starting lineup tho, scoring system. That really matters into giving advice.

yup, i could see how that would be helpful. looks like standard PPR scoring in ESPN. 1 qb, 2 wr, 2 rb, 1 te, 1 flex, def, kicker. no bonuses or any other odd rules

I'd say, have a QB by round 7. Easiest way to say it.

Same goes for a TE for me. There are only so many good ones and streaming for a QB is much easier.

I'll disagree on QB, as there isn't much difference between QB 7 and QB 16. I'd rather have the advantage at WR, as WR thins out pretty quickly. I'd rather have Tee Higgins and Matt Ryan than Cole Beasley and Tom Brady.

I'm personally a zero-RB or one-RB type guy, so depending on where you draft, I'd take one of two strategies. If you draft in the top 4, I'd go RB and then either WR or TE with your next four picks, making sure to pick up one of the top 6 TE along the way. Then I'd go either RB for 2-3 rounds and then when you feel that people are starting to want to take their backup QBs, I'd quick grab 2. Then more RB until all backup RB are out. For your 2nd RB, I'd target high-volume pass catchers like James White or (if healthy) Gio Bernard because they will at least give you a baseline of PPR catch points. If your pick is after the first 4, I'd go with WR or Kelce in the first round and then a bunch of WR or TE if you didn't take Kelce. As of today, Davante Adams is likely the most safe, dependable, high-end production guy. While McCaffrey's ceiling is higher, there is no way that Adams doesn't return 1st round value absent catastrophic injury.

While this strategy doesn't yield the best opening day roster, given how many RBs get hurt during the year, I think it works better provided that you've got some good backups in your bullpen and are aggressive in free agency when RB opportunities show up. Mike Davis was free on draft day last year and when McCaffrey got hurt, he was like 75% of what McCaffrey was doing for a few weeks. That's the tactical advantage.
