    Default Pasta for BTkachuk

For league in sig. Would you move Pasta straight up for Brady?

While I think it's a somewhat fair move, I would consider the rest of your roster. It's more difficult to make up the G, A, P and PPP you'd be losing from Pastrnak.
Just to offer a comparison, I traded away B. Tkachuk last year with the same league setup for Kucherov +1st + 2nd.
I felt that I need more elite scoring and could probably make up the hits by community.
    Good luck!

    Hard pass.

I get the appeal of Brady and if Pasta didn't shoot like he does, I would be closer to saying yes. But their SOG/G rates last year were 3.7 for Pasta and 3.9 for Brady which to me makes it a wash. They're both top 5 in the league for SOG.

So you're essentially swapping a guy who is likely to get 85 points and 40G for 55 points and 25-30G. You would downgrade in G, A, +/-, PPP, GWG, and gain in PIM and HIT.

After McDavid, Pastrnak is your clear second point producer. As great as Tkachuk is I might be tempted to hold on for now. Tkachuks don't grow on trees but you can find ways to add some of what he brings further down your lineup.

Awesome advice guys, as always! Will rep where possible. I'm a Sens fan so I'm looking at this through rose coloured glasses a bit I think.

I think the numbers will say B.Tkachuk has insane value... but it's mostly because of his HUGE number of hits.
    That said - it's a NO.
    Keep Pasta.

Hits are the easiest thing to find in leagues.
Some teams accidentally overstock them based on overdrafting value.

I think it's smarter to go full-offense and slow-add Hits... as needed.
    So Pasta's offense >> Brady's...

And figure out the hits with late draft guys and D-men.

I'd keep Pastrnak, and I'm a guy who tends to aim for the Tkachuk types, he does do very well in your league with the PIM, HIT, and SOG categories. Ottawa needs some more talent to have me do that deal. With something else coming back, very possible.

Exactly this. I give way less value than most to guys like BT. You can always find hits and PIMS on the waiver wire. You cannot find elite offence on the waiver wire.

You can find hits and pims on the waiver wire, but not combined with rising points, ppp, etc. If BT pushes you over to win other categories, I'd probably go for the deal. I'd check your last season stats to see where you ranked compared to the others. Ottawa is rising, Boston declining. Trade while people still overvalue Pastrnak
Yahoo Limited keeper: keep up to 8 players from the preceding season, but 2 of them has to be dropped at the end of the season, decided before the start. 'Keep eligible players' from draft round 11 and later, or undrafted.

I'm playing Devil's advocat here: I'd consider it even if I'm in the minority. Pasta is probably right at his peak now while Tkachuk should improve even further given he's only 21 years and his teammates are getting better too. For Pasta it's the opposite: I'm not sure how elite he can be once Bergeron and Marchant fizzle out (which shouldn't be all that far in the future..). So Tkachuk holds a bit less value for me right now, but he's the younger guy with the much higher floor and argueably also with the higher ceiling overall (not scoring alone) and the brighter future. He might never catch Pasta purely with his offense, but the overall value in a multi cat league could be so much higher than Pasta's in a couple of years....
