Well, that's another debate but I think he's been mismanaged by Montreal so far, and based on potential alone, it'd be foolish to call him a bust.
I'd have drafted 3 or 4 guys ahead of him (that's a third debate ) but even if he's not worth 6.1M (agreed) he's worth more than whatever Bergevin was trying to lowball him for.

Well, to be fair, that's how most of these negotiations work, especially for RFAs who don't have arbitration rights. So good on KK to have signed this offer, he's the real winner here!

Do you work for a living? If so and another firm in your industry offered you a one year contract for 3 or 4 times more than what you current employer is offering you and then a guarantee of another year at the same price (or a different offer that you agree to), would you sign it?

I doubt any team/player/coach is going to think less of him because he was offered way more than he's worth. Both his teammates (on either team) as well as all of the other players in the league, are very happy with this contract. It just drove up the contract price on all of his comparable players. Which is pretty much every player in the league as he's a replacement level player (with potential).

How soon we forget. The Habs showed zero class and respect when they drafted Mailloux. They deserve every middle finger they get. I’d be happy to slap KK on the back for giving them one.

I mostly agree, however, they could've tried this before losing Hamilton & Nedeljkovic. Probably would've hamstrung both them & Montreal a bit, and likely for less money.

Getting a pay raise from a competitor shouldn't cause a bad reputation - but this is Montreal, and he's not a francophone. As other noted, I do love the trolling aspect.

Trocheck is UFA in a year, not a lock they keep him. If they believe they have their insurance young second line centre then i dont see an issue

your complaints are subjective at best. i believe carolina believes in KK and im sure the finn's currently on the team have something to do with it

Hockey fans really have a warped view of “class”. Man. I don’t know how any minor things makes someone classless. The drafting of Mailloux was tone deaf, embarrassing, and probably classless. Signing a contract with a funny signing bonus is none of those things.
