Me too, but I feel like it's close enough that it's arguable. I think there's a clear top 3 (McDavid, Mackinnon, Draisaitl), then it's up to preference. Tkachuk is a monster in rotisserie and Matthews will give you goals and shots at an elite rate. Kuch will get you points and PPP and a very strong +/-.

I'll take Kuch at 80 games over Matthews 68.
I'll take Kuch point output over Tkachuk. Ill find what Tkachuk brings deeper into the draft. I won't find Kuch's pts at that point.

I mean, sure, but that's you. Of course Kucherov will outscore Tkachuk, nobody denies that. But Tkachuk will significantly outshoot and outhit Kucherov. You're right that you won't find anyone who can score like Kucherov later in the draft. But you also won't find someone who will get you all the peripherals Tkachuk will get later in the draft.

It comes down to the strategy you prefer. Grab Tkachuk and look for underrated point producers later in the draft or grab Kuch and look for players with strong peripherals later in the draft. Both can work just fine.

As for saying Kuch will play 80 games while Matthews will play 65, well, that's your own projection.

    .
significantly out shoot Kucherov? I think its like 3.5 per game for Tkachuk and 3 for Kuch on a 3 yr avg. eh, maybe that is significant(?)

Last year, Tkachuk had 3.9 shots per game while Kucherov had 3.1 in his last full year. Tkachuk was also trending up as the year went on well above 4 shots per game. So yes, that's very significant to me.

Again, I would pick Kuch over Tkachuk but pretending the gap is big in these kind of settings is fooling yourself, in my opinion.

Kucherov has hit near 100% gp in the last 6 seasons (2016-17 he only hit 74 gp). Matthews has been over 70 gp just once in 5 seasons. He is also coming off wrist surgery so we will see how successful that can be for him. You can definitely find what Tkachuk brings later on in drafts. The gap is just too large imo.

Don't worry about it. It's a mock draft and you will look like a genius at the end of the year if you are right . Take the picks you will enjoy making!

I love it! Having these discussions is exactly why we do this. We’re all getting better prepared for our competitive and $$ league drafts!

100%. I don't think there's any wrong opinion out there. It's fun to share and see where everyone's at.

Yeah, and this is the first round. Keeper leagues, whether keeping 3, or 6, or 10…. the middle rounds are where the discussions and different strategies get real. And we’re basically all here to have these chats.

Not trying to rush anything but how long do you guys usually wait when this sort of thing happens?
