I guess that your format of only 17 players counting against the cap at any given time gives you the ability to carry so many large contracts... I just don't see how it's possible to carry that many big contracts.

Yes, 12 fwds, 3d’s and 2 goalies at any time….only those 17 skaters count for cap

I think that you should spend some time with the Same Night Tool, and try to determine how many times your current collection of big salaries are scheduled to play on the same night, in order to see if playing Eichel regularly is even possible.

Are you allowed to go over the cap in the off-season to give you time to work more trades?

Clearly this deal is a good deal for your team but if you have to gut your team to clear the cap to make this work, it loses its appeal real quick.
