Call me crazy but the whole "no NHL player has ever had it done" and the complete refusal of the Sabre's to allow it as well as not release his medical info to other teams...seems like it might be serious to me. Guess not.

Right no NHL player has ever done it, as this kind of neck injury is uncommon for NHL players. NBA, NFL, MLB, MMA, soccer players have all done it and had incredible success, but sure lets ignore that. The surgery isn't new and has been around more than 30 years, but sure lets ignore that too.

Imagine if athletes never had knee surgeries, because at one point those had "never been done before" either.

What you're not understanding is Eichel has no choice here but to follow the team Doctors recommendations. This was part of the latest CBA that kicked in past year. The players can go get a 2nd opinion, and can present it to the team Doctors for consideration but at the end of the day, the players gave up their right to do what they want medically. The team has fill say on medical procedures. Eichel is the one wasting time here fighting for something completely out of his control.

And as far as the team releasing info on his injury, maybe they're waiting for someone to present them with a legitimate offer before they do that. Buffalo is trying to trade Eichel based on his 36 goal season two years ago and teams are probably making offers based on his 2 goal season last year. We simply don't know the inerts of those discussions.

No, teams are making offers based on the fact that he has an injury that requires significant surgery. If everyone thought he was not in some serious danger with this it'd be a done deal. It's a fusion or replacement. One limits flexibility in the neck and the other is experimental for an NHLer. Is there something hard to understand about this?

Clearly, or the trade probably would have happened.

Buffalo doesn't have to do anything. They have a contract with Eichel for years to come. He's their property in the NHL today. It's a sad way to look at it, but that's the way it is. If Adams doesn't like the offers, he's not forced to do anything, especially considering Eichel NTC doesn't kick in for another year.

Maybe the Ducks offered Zegras, Drysdale, and #3 and Adams said no. Since you haven’t actually observed any single offer, you have no empirical evidence that the offers haven’t been sufficient.
