WTF is FAAB?

So move it to Tuesday AM or reduce waiver time? Think I know what you mean but not entirely sure. Never done FAAB before. Won't the player come off waivers Thursday morning as is the case in last years system?

I was suggesting decreasing the waiver time to 1 day. That way someone dropped in FAAB move should be available Thursday AM.

It's different because the drops will only happen on Wednesday AM. In the past you could drop on Sunday, Monday Tuesday and they'd clear waivers in time for TNF.

At least the drops that are part of FAAB adds.

EIther way....Im in favor of changing waiver time to 1 day because I don't see the need for it to be 2 days. But it's not a game changer. I just wanted to bring it up.

WTF is FAAB?

Free Agent Acquisition Budget. Recently changed to FAB - 'Acquisition' was removed.

Instead of waivers based on waiver priority, we bid on waivers. From the help section:

Each manager is given a budget to place offers on unclaimed players that are on waivers. The default budget is $100, but the commish of a Private League can adjust the budget as they see fit by clicking Free Agent Budget under the Manage Other Teams tab in their commissioner tools.

FAB budget ranges from $1 - $999.
Offers can range from $0 to the remainder of your budget.
Offers are blind, so other managers can't see what your offer is.
The manager with the highest offer signs the player to their roster and has that amount deducted from their FAB budget.
Waiver order doesn't change except in the event of a tie. The commish picks 1 of the 3 other waiver priorities to be used in the event of a tie:

Reverse Order of Standings
Weekly Rolling List Based on Standings

Should be an interesting change. I've done it with the Dobber hockey leagues but never with football.

Just a reminder that my buddy Will will be drafting for me on Thursday as I am at sea and cant access Yahoo from here. Take it easy on him. My internet has been sketchy at best anyway. Not sure how well I'll do with this new FAAB process. I might have to explain it to Will so he can watch my roster for me in November when I am away again for most of the month.
