Hearing the Coyotes are trading Darcy Kuemper to Colorado for a first-rounder pick and defenseman Conor Timmins.

Good deal for both. Colorado gets its starter and Arizona gets a good young Dman and a 1st in a deep draft.

I was thinking that the Hawks would flip MAF to the Avs. But it does not appear that would happen now.

this is a huge price to pay for 1 year of a goalie. even if kuemper is extended, hed have a higher cap hit. i dont understand why they just didnt pony up for grubauer

Oh man, this is great. In one of my dynasty leagues, I just upgraded Kuemper to COL, Raanta to CAR and Elliott to TB in addition to Price MTL. Hoping for some decent goaltending numbers next year. I also have Timmins in another league, so maybe he gets a nice little bump in ice time.

Steep price to pay for Kuemper, but the goalie market dried up quickly today.

Think Joe got hit between the eyes unexpectedly when Grubauer signed elsewhere, and then had to scramble to get something done in an effort to plug the hole. We'll see if Kuemper is up for it, but I think that's a pretty good step down from Grubauer overall. And what the Avs had to pay to get him ... not a banner day for the Avs front office.

Oh man what a great offseason for you so far! I’m also pretty pumped, owning DK means going from owning a top 10-15 goalie in the league, to a goalie in arguably a top 5 situation, maybe even higher. Love this move as a DK owner!

Big price to pay for a very injury prone goalie. I feel like they'll be scrambling once again next season.

The good news is their elite team defense can hopefully hide a lot of flawed backups.

Sakic seems to have bunged this up. I feel like a bunch of goalies would have preferred to go to Avs over other places, but Avs were focused on Grubauer and the others signed.

Arizona has had a REALLY good offseason. Timmins is an RFA though, so they need to get a deal done, which shouldn't be too hard with him.

There's also a conditional 3rd going to Arizona but I am not sure about the conditions.

As far as the price goes, it's nice to see Sakic have to scramble a bit and be on the losing end of a deal somewhat. Rumor had it he had to overpay to outbid Edmonton, who were pursuing Kuemper pretty hard most of the day but that's just a rumor I read on twitter this morning.

Sakic did mention that he fully expects Francouz to be ready for training camp.
