As a Habs fan, I don't think I like it. The contract, in itself, is fine. Term is not too long and AAV is OK. But the fit is wrong. I understand the Habs need goals and PP help but what they need more than anything is a top-end center or offensive D-man. Hoffman is neither of those things. Weird move.

I'll have to disagree here, if the playoffs showed nothing it was our inability to score goals, especially on the PP.

At some point you have to let the youth take over and that's what you're going to see this upcoming season.

Suzuki, KK, CC, Romanov and Evans are going to get more minutes and they'll have a good cast of supporting veteran players around them.

I really like the additions today.

Same. Was hoping this one would not come into fruition.

I like the signing for the Habs. Team needs power play help. A guy who can score 30 goals. Put him on a line with Suzuki and Caufield and see what happens.

That's a fair assessment as well. And as I said, the Habs definitely need help on the PP. But 5 on 5, Hoffman doesn't fit what the Habs do stylistically. He's also not a driver of his own offense. So while I agree he's going to score his goals on the PP, I'm not sure how productive he will be if he's not on Suzuki's line.

    I guess we'll see.

I like Hoffmans offensive ability but I wonder about the dressing room fit as well. I hope it's not an issue because I do like Hoffman and Montreal definitely needs the offensive boost he can offer.

Invictus, if you arent familiar with the previous drama around Mike Hoffman, just google Mike Hoffman drama. You'll find the info you need. Here's the first link I found from a Bruins writer who was hoping the Bruins steer clear of him last season. Personally, I dont buy all the foolishness that he's a locker room cancer as many seem to think, but I am not in the dressing rooms (neither are the haters either to be honest) so I cant say for sure how other players truly feel about him and most wont admit to anything publicly that paints him in a bad light (except Erik Karlsson LOL).

I've mentioned this before, and I'll try to find the exact response later, but the whole thing with Hoffman and Karlsson ended up not being the Hoffmans behind the issue, and there was no evidence of any wrong doing by the Hoffmans.

No one remembers the final part, just the first bit of drama.
