To be fair, I was never really that high on Grubauer. I am a little surprised that Sakic let a vezina finalist get away, but there may be a method to the madness.

Could he win a cup? I don’t know - maybe on the right team. He certainly isn’t what I would call an elite goaltender like price or Vasilevskiy. I think he’s a step below.

Perhaps Colorado will trade for or groom another Elite. It’s not Dubnyk nor Francouz. It could be Johanssen but it’s a little early to tell

So is Driedger now an expensive backup?
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

    I think it's a 60/40 split in net.

82 games, which would mean 49/33 as the games played split. With this being the first 82game season since 2018-19 season, could very well see more of a 55/45 split (45/37) in most goalie situations.

I don't think 3.5m is an expensive backup, but it is an expensive backup if you don't use him.

With Seattle not likely winning tons of games, Driedger's value is pretty low. In cap leagues, he might be a drop. Too bad, he showed promise in Florida and could have signed in a more favourable place.

I feel like Seattle could be like past Minny teams. Net out, tough team to play against, might have issues scoring.

Dreidger could very well be a solid 3rd goalie on fantasy teams that won't get a whole lot of wins, but his peripheral stats might end up being pretty solid.
