They spent almost 19m of an 81.5m cap (23%) on the top 4 of Nurse, Keith, Ceci, and Barrie. And somehow, this is better than Nurse, Larsson, Barrie, and Bear in their mind at like 15m (quick mental math there).
I dunno, the amount of movement they did seems like a lot of busy work to end up in the same place defensively.

To me, the Oilers D isn't upgraded. I'd say it's similar.

The way I see it, Keith is an upgrade to Jones. Ceci isn't as good as Larsson. If Bouchard can replace Bear (which I believe he's capable of), I see their off-season D changes as a push at best.

Im not saying he's new. Im showing him in there as a full time replacement on the right side. This is comparing last years top six D to this years projected top six.

Russell is more suited to the third pairing but the cost is replacing Larsson with Ceci.
