Suddenly there's a logjam of offensive dmen in NJ.
Not crazy about what this does to Ty Smith's and Luke Hughes' deployment for the near future.

Hughes was headed back to the NCAA for a year or two. Never a bad thing to take any heat off a prospect.

more and more teams (excluding Montreal) are going with 2-3 offensive Dmen in their line up.
This just follows the league trend

I'm expecting a considerable drop in offensive production from the Dougie.

Is this a good deal because the cap hit is lower than S. Jones??

This hasn't been made official at all yet, right? Or have I just missed it?

Still very likely that it happens but weird that it's taking this long.

And he's considerably better than Jones and the Devils didn't give up a bunch of picks and a promising prospect for him either.

it may take another year or 2..but that NJ PP will be scary...i dont buy that his offense will take huge hit..i would not be surprised if it actually improves..

Great deal for NJ and Hamilton.

Sucks for Ty Smith owner's (such as myself). Smith may still be a viable option in some points-only leagues, but he is now relegated to second-unit power play time. I suspect his ceiling is now limited to 30-35 pts. Too bad because he showed signs last year of being a quality fantasy-asset.

Prospects of Note: L. Stankoven, J. Lekkerimaki, D. Yurov, B. Clarke

League has been running continuously since 1997-98
