No the Suter no QO still makes no sense at all.
Tyler Johnson + 2nd rounder for the corpse of Brent Seabrook
All things considered, pretty decent deal for TB. They're out of cap hell and have some space to round out their roster
This makes more sense for the Pius Suter non-QO for Chicago
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.
No the Suter no QO still makes no sense at all.

Blackhawks still wheeling and dealing. Good deal for both.

NEWS: Tyler Johnson is headed to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Tampa Bay traded Johnson and their 2023 second round pick to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Brent Seabrook, sources told ESPN.

Why do teams help Tampa out lol. You'd think the teams could squeeze more out of Tampa than a likely low 2nd rounder. Shows I guess how teams value their "cast offs"

I’m just shocked that of all these ‘help the other team by taking cap hit for picks’ trades, Seattle hasn’t grabbed a single one.

Agreed. I'm kind of puzzled by this too, and think it opens plenty of room for criticism of Francis and Co. and their expansion picks ... unless they make a BIG splash in free agency today.
Although without having looked at at the list recently, it seem the list of impact players there is starting to dwindle a bit too.

Seattle's prices to help teams out was really high during the expansion draft.
I imagine Francis has kept them quite high since.
Taking Seabrook back gives TB LTIR wiggle room that seems to open up a little extra cap.

On one hand, I don't completely understand this move from a CHI GM-ing standpoint.
On the other hand, it wouldn't completely shock me if, behind the scenes, CHI ownership is saying "I want to move on from the Crawford, Keith, Seabrook days. Beyond Kane/Toews, I want this to feel like a new team."
For all we know, maybe guys like Keith & Seabrook are unfortunate ties to the recent story about the ex-coach.
Maybe the "player in question" there was a young defenseman - and ties need to be severed.
There definitely feels like CHI is moving parts for the sake of... moving parts.
Smart, smart move for TB.
They can now fill up their team with cap hits as needed to get the maximum workable cap out of Seabrook's LTIR amount.
Another win for TB.
Maybe their's an inside "champions circle" where these legacy-teams scratch each other's backs and smoke cigars?!?
Tampa continues to walk circles around the rest of the league
With the recent signings of Seth Jones, MA Fleury, and Tyler Johnson...Chicago is now the clear favourite for the 2018 Stanley Cup.
