Expanding - Who to protect...

Hey folks,

Hope the off season is treating you all well

We have an expansion this year and I have to protect my players. I chose to protect 2 goalies instead of 1, so I can only protect 6 F and 4 D (My goalie protections are Demko and Sesh)

In any case, who are you protecting here? Can only lose 1. I put who I am currently thinking of protecting as top 6 on this list.

I like your 6. McCann is a bit of a risk but he's getting a lot of hype so leaving him unprotected could mean losing him and if he does seize the opportunity in Seattle that will be a very nice contract. I still think Wheeler has a few good years left, I'd be tempted to protect him rather than McCann but there's a good chance he gets by passed because of his age, a good gamble. So, I'd go with your list, your going to lose someone but I like what you've done to lessen the impact.

That was my idea, Mccann could get top line there, and be a surprise. Wheeler didn't have the best year and is expensive, my guess right now is that I lose BEAUVILLIER, which sucks

I'm keeping Wheeler or even Trocheck over McCann. The rest are fine.

It depends on who you WANT to lose. I agree with you that if I was the expansion team, from your team I’d take Beauvillier. But if you exposed McCann and protected Beauv— then I’d probably take TROCHECK over McCann. Personally I’d rather lose Beauvillier than Trocheck. If I take McCann, my +/- will not be as friendly.
