I imagine with the Reinhart acquisition, we should see a 4-man race for that last Forward spot on the 1st PP. Which forward do you see nabbing that coveted spot??
Bennett
Verhaege
Duclair
Horvqvist
Cheers!

Hornqvist when he is healthy to play the net-front position.
If it's not broken, don't fix it. This has been Horny's bread and butter and he's effective. I don't see that changing for the coming year. However, he runs into his fair share of injuries and that's when the revolving door will happen. I would think that the Panthers will be looking for someone to replace Hornqvist when his contract expires in 22 - 23 and Duclair, Bennett and Verhaege will all likely be given the opportunity to prove they are the guy.

With the roster as it is now I doubt very much that Hornqvist is on PP1.

I think Verhaeghe wins in the end. Looks great with Barkov and Huberdeau and put up 33 of his 36 points on ES in 43 games. That is insane ES production for the games. He didn't receive top PP time until the past handful of games. He should be on that PP1... too much of an offensive creator. Had his best game without Barkov too, a 3 goal, 4 point night, which he also assisted on a game winning goal in OT with Huberdeau. He also had 2 of his goals playing with Acciari that game. I think the top 4 is Barkov, Huberdeau, Verhaeghe, Hornqvist for that net front presence (until he hits a wall), then it's Reinhart, and Ekblad.
I am a hockey obsessed fiend.
Barky, Huberdon't and Ekblad are the three 100% locks for that top unit.
Reinhart, Verhaeghe, Hornqvist, Bennett, Duclair would be fighting for those last two
Hornqvist: Pros - One of the top net front presence guys in league for years. Cons - Slow as fk (not to important on the pp), injured all the time, getting up there in years.
Bennett: Pros - Looked great in Florida. Cons - Small sample size, has had opportunities in the past to showcase his skills and never ran with it.
Reinhart: Pros - Out of all the names, likely has the most skill of the group, has put up good numbers in the past. Cons - Has no established chemistry with the Florida players yet, maybe he doesn't gel well with the top talent.
Duclair: Pros - Is a proven goal scorer, could be the trigger man for the pp. Cons - Lacks the creativity and skill of the others on this list.
Verhaeghe: Pros: Has proven chemistry with Barkov, put up really good ES production last year. Cons - Doesn't have the pedigree (minus Duclair maybe) of the others on this list, has less then 100 NHL games of experience.
Honestly, it's hard to say, really depends on the special teams coach and who he likes in those positions.
I'd say Duclair is the least likely to get a spot, could see other 4 switching in and out for different combinations depending on how hot or cold the Fla PP is.
