Trade for Ekblad?

Hey everyone,

Looking for some feedback on a recent trade proposal.

I’m looking to move Toffoli and with Florida building a stronger team, as well as the buy-out of Yandle, I was looking to acquire Ekblad. His broken leg is of some concern though.

How much do you think his injury affects him and your opinion of the deal.

No one, and I mean no one knows if Ekblad's injury will have any negative effect. What we do know is Ekblad is one hell of a defencemen, he has been trending up and that he is finally in a position to take ownership of the 1 PP on a rather nice Panthers team that's not to shabby 5 v 5 BTW!. Case closed. You are paying very little to acquire a D that should be acquired, and if for reasons that know one could possibly know the injury is a career changer, well, that's a risk I'm more than willing to take. Do this!

Ekblad had been showing in last 2 seasons how good of a dmen he could be.

You losing Toffoli from your forward group is not a huge hit to your team. Adding Ekblad readily improves your defence on this team.

Broken bones heal better and have less residual effect on play than other things like labrums, ligaments, and brainpans. I'd have little concern over a broken bone when evaluating a keeper's value. Go with Ekblad.

I made a deal for Ekblad recently and I don't regret it. I think the injury just provides a good buy low window and his salary is reasonable when you look at comparable guys that are running pp1. I would do that in a second.

Absolutely make this deal.

Especially in your format with 3/3/3 + 6D + 3U - Dmen become all the more valuable.

To get a potential PP1 Dman on a solid team should cost a LOT more than just Toffoli... and you're getting the better end of the pick swap too.

Kudos - this is a huge win for you imo.

Overthinking Ekblad’s injury was giving me a little trade offer remorse so I appreciate everyone’s opinions.

Nicely done. I also like what you did. You got a pick upgrade for taking on a risk, but most broken bones heal fine, and those that don't it's often due to people not rehabbing them properly, which isn't an issue with a pro athelte.
