I acquired Garland for the 10th pick overall in this year’s draft and Elvenes + a 2022 2nd (15thish) if Garland score 35 goals or more next season.
I am very happy with this trade for a couple reasons. With the 10th pick I was going to be getting someone like Sillinger or Lucius who I would hope would turn into a top 6 forward. Garland is that now. I think Garland should be a 60-70 point player in Vancouver. Elvenes is just a guy who I picked up off waivers a while back so no big loss there. And if I have to trade my 2nd next year it means Garland scored 35 or more goals so I will be happy to pay it. What do you think?

Always been a fan of Garland, back in his Junior days when he was dominating... then signed him when he was dropped in our league. But then I traded him, a long with a late 1st, with Chytil for M. Duchene, Edler, and Cizikas. That was when Duchene was in Ottawa and had 27 goals and 58 points in 50 games, and was playing at a near 95 point clip over 82 games... Edler was beasting out and Cizikas was a 20 goal 4th liner... Deal looks terrible today, but it was what put me over the top to win the Championship in a 31 team league, so I am okay with it. But yeah, it aged badly. *shudders* Still would make that deal again. Sacrifices one makes to win!
I wouldn't be at all shocked if Garland even broke a point-per-game in the NHL. You did good grasshopper.
