    Default Keepers advice and strategies

    Hello!

League in signature. I’m looking for some advice on my keepers. I’m not competing, I’m in a rebuild, and I have a great draft. I find it hard to decide on a strategy. I cannot only keep young guys, and most might be available in the draft. And at the same time I can’t stay put with my current core.

Here’s what I have so far. The “*” are the maybes.
    Forwards
    - MacKinnon
    - Konecny
    - Forsberg
    - Teravainen
    - Reinhart*
    - Zadina
    - Dach
    - Larkin
    - Meier*
    Def
    - Pulock*
    - Hronek*
    - Byram
    - Chychrun
    - Ekblad
    Goalie
    - Lehner

I guess logic would say keep Reinhart and Meier and drop Zadina. Would you keep Hronek over Byram? Would you make room for Pulock? Like I said, I’m in a rebuild maybe compete 22-23.
Side note, I really like Lucas Raymond (over this year’s draft)… I think Detroit will not be this bad this year and will start being a serious opponent next year… thoughts?

    Thank you for your help!

if you're in a rebuild, I like byram over hronek for the future (maybe you can flip hronek to another gm that is competing this year?). Can you deal pulock to a team that needs D? Im not that big on Meier either, i like reinhart more right now. But buffalo is a little concerning.

It’s a keep 12. Off-season trades are hard to complete, but I like the idea of trading Pulock. He had great playoffs, might attract few GM

Yes I’d try and make deals for Pulock and Hronek. I would keep Reinhart over Meier. So:

Mack, Turbo, konecny, Reinhart, forsberg, Dach, Larkin

    Byram, Ekblad, Chychrun and Hronek

    Lehner

    Good luck

Thx for the feedbacks! Good to see your perceived value on Zadina and Meier, really enlightening.

^ This! had the same thoughts in mind.

Larkin is coming off a rough year - hopefully Bertuzzi and Vrana can help get that line rolling again. If they roll, maybe that Hronek drop is tougher to palate. Could be a solid mid-season trade.
Teravainen's injury last season drops is stock. But another trade option mid-season for a young stud. If you hold, he's a solid near PPG fella.
Here's to hoping Pulock can put up some points in the regular season like the playoffs - without a that uptick in the post-season and he'd be a tough guy to ride. Fingers crossed you find a deal for him.
From your signature, Voracek has some appeal as well. Why is he an early write off for you?

Good question! First thought was the cap hit for 60pts. But you bring an interesting point. I’m keeping guys that might do more… would you make room for him?
