Don’t think so. I think he’ll sign somewhere else.

I agree with Tweet. I think Colorado decides to spend their money not on goaltending. Between Francouz, Annunen and Johansson they'll be fine.

If Grubs signs for ~5m or less AAV i think he stays. any higher hes probs gone. would not surprise me if they already have a handshake deal for expansion purposes

i actually think colorado would pony up a bit for goaltending since francouz didnt even play the entire season and johansson is... only ok. goaltending wasnt the issue in the playoffs and lack of depth was an issue in the bubble playoffs. grubs had a vezina calibre season.

Really? Francouz can’t stay healthy and Annunen and Johansson are unproven. IMO Colorado needs a proven goalie. If it’s not Grubs then they need to acquire a #1 goalie. I think the goalie situation is more important than the upcoming 8-year Landeskog contract.

They could try to acquire Khubodin or Talbot both on good value contracts for the next 2 years who could be exposed to Seattle.

I'm with Daydream Nation. I don't know what gets them over the hump en route to the Cup, but taking chances on an already risky position seems, well... risky. I have to think this is Gru's spot or they shore up the #1 via free agency, and I'm not confident that would be better given that we can never be sure about goalies (especially 31 year olds that have less than 40 NHL games under belts and rookies with even less).
    10 Team H2H Points (Keep 1C, 2W, 2D, 1G, & 1 non-goalie):
G,A,+/-, PIM, PPG, SHG, GWG, OTG, FOWs, Hits, Blks, Maj, Mis, (bonus scoring for D-men makes them comparable to Wing)
    Wins, Saves, GA, Shutouts

    18 Man Roster (3 IR slots) Daily Start: 2C, 4W, 4D, 2G

    C: Zibanejad, Thomas, Tavares
W: Stutzle, Robertson, Connor, Buchnevich, McCann
D: Makar, McAvoy, Josi, Theodore, Matheson, Harley
G: Georgiev, Binnington, Kochetkov, Andersen (IR)

If they don’t sign him then they definitely need a #1 via trade or FA. He is/was a big part of their success and they will need steady goaltending if they’re going for a cup run. What they have in the system is nice but nowhere near capable of being a #1. They need to keep him IMO.

I think there is little doubt the Av's have to solidify their goaltending. Whether that's by signing Grubs or an FA, who knows, but the associated cost will be a factor. Best case scenario for all I think is a longer term contract with a lower AAV. Maybe 35 Mil over 7 years?

Don't think he re-signs. His poor showing in the playoffs is going to make Colorado want to look elsewhere, considering Grubauer will be looking for big money. I think they sign someone else cheaper and leave the cap space for Makar and Landeskog.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
