In my league I traded Boeser in order to get M Tkachuk. You'd be overpaying if you were to trade Zibs for him.

Your D is weak though, so if you're exploring trading Zibanejad then I'd look at getting a stud D back rather than a forward.

J Hughes, Cooley (r), Bratt, Laine, M Tkachuk, Necas, A Svechnikov, S Jarvis, M Michkov (r), W Johnston, Zegras, Giroux, Norris, Couturier, B Jenner, T Krug, Burns, M Weegar, Werenski, Sergachev, B Clarke (r), Theodore, Sorokin , Oettinger, Askarov (r), Ersson

Keep 14 plus 4 rookies (under 150 GP) max 18 players
    Scoring: G (1), A (1), +/- (0.25), H (0.1), B(0.1), PIM (0.1), SOG (0.1), GWG (1), PPP (1), SHP (1),

I agree. Ziba would yield a top Dman which is a primary need.

I wouldn't trade Zibanejad for Tkachuk or a stud D, unless there was a healthy + attached to either in this setup.

Mika Zibanejad is so damn streaky though. He's so Dr. Jerkyl and Mr. Hyde. Goes from 3rd line numbers to superstar elite numbers. Who you get is anyone's guess. haha That being said, I agree with the others, but I don't think it's as far off as others think.. Matthew Tkachuk is a good multi-cat player who is on the verge of breaking out and will start the year on a line with Elias Lindholm and Johnny Gaudreau. I still think Chucky's upside is 80-90 at his peak. People forget he's only 23 and had a 77 point season as a 20/21 year-old. At 18/19 he scored 48 points as a rookie. It's going to be a lot closer in a couple years. Could happen as soon as this upcoming season. All depends how the stars align. All I can say is his top linemate had 22 points in their final 16 games together. Looking at the fourth and final quarter of the season, in comparison to the third, Tkachuk's goals, points, and shots production all doubled in the same amount of games when Johnny Hockey was placed on his line. Having a Gaudreau regaining his 18/19 form on your line with a very good offensive Lindholm sets you up for success. And this is right around the time when guys break out.

Again, not saying it's close now, but today and tomorrow are two different things. In a H2H keeper like mine, if I saw that trade, I would tell the guy who paid Mika to get Chucky, it was a overpay, but one that might not be that bad considering the talent returning. I guess it really depends who you put faith in and if you think they can reach those lofty goals.

Thanks for the input. I’m never big on giving high end forwards for dmen. Just a personal preference. I do agree I think I would need a healthy + for me to move Zibanejad in this deal.
