I love Nicolas Beaudin's game and the potential there. Mid-way through the Hawks season commanded their PP like a man possessed. He's so confident and knows how to move around and get open and how to feed shooters. The two goals he scored this past season really showcased his hockey IQ. The way he tracks and follows the puck on the attack, in fact scoring both of his goals in eerily similar fashion, going to the left slot looking for the rebound and capitalizing... Top shelf over the goalie's shoulder. Smart players know where to put themselves in the right place at the right time... you can only be a player of fortune for so long without brains. And that's why he's your guy. This kid has elite vision. The only verdict on him is consistency and being competent in his end.

Biggest take away, and this was the highlight for me. He had received something like 4:08 on the PP and the next guy to him was Duncan Keith at 1:30, so it showed how much confidence Jeremy Colliton had in him. And this was back when Chicago was in a playoff position. Now if he can bring that consistency and play a more competent 200-foot game, you have a real gamer here. So low-end expectations, he could be a Cody Franson or Jake Gardiner type, great on the PP, but can struggle at times in his end, and find himself back and forth between the two leagues, or best case scenario, he can have it figured out and become a top-pairing guy that gets you 50-to-60 points. I will go with the safe bet and say he becomes a solid top-four guy who can get 35-40 points.

I might flip Beaudin and Alexeyev from Belexus' list, but that's pretty much how I see them as well.

    That high on Beaudin?

From the small sample size I saw last year, I was impressed. Defensively he is much better than Boqvist. Honestly, I think he ran the power play better last year in the chances he got as well. He might have some sleeper potential next year.
