While the asking price is high... Vegas has the assets available to make the trade, and unlike other teams, not change the complexion of the team.
Sniffing the Finals 3 of the last 4 (making it the once), they are hungry. Eichel will see time on LTIR so they won't have to expect having his full AAV cap either.

Leaner is not going back… Theodore would make no sense for Vegas and rest does not offer enough quality outside of Kerbs… now it’s Buffalo so they could make a mistake but there is no good deal to be had here for sabers

A reporter for THN said Buffalo has asked for Reilly Smith, Krebs, Hague, and a 1st rounder. I assume the Smith portion would be to open up space for Martinez and allow Buffalo to hit the floor. But if this was the ask for Eichel...I think that's a smash accept and laugh at the GM type of offer.

There's a bunch of unknowns right now obviously. But could be now at the stage of talking to Eichel about his health. Could be talking to Buffalo about conditions on a pick, or this was just the start of the conversation. Or the reporter lied or had mis-information and that was what Vegas offered.

I'm shocked if that's all Vegas has to give up to get Eichel. Just goes to show that even star players don't get much of a return once teams publicly know the player wants out. Poor Buffalo.

Vegas will be ranked #1 on my list to win the Cup next year if that happens.

With the Dadonov deal, making 5mill for the next 2yrs, and moving out Holden who was buried and cost ~$500k to the cap (+4.5mill) I don't know how Vegas works in Eichel now.
