Default Thoughts on Jack Dugan and what he could become?

I have no idea as I haven't followed the kid. A buddy wants to trade him to me. Wondering what you guys think of him. So far pretty good numbers at lower levels. And no I won't fight this one. I am completely in the dark on this kid.

Dugan is an under the radar prospect for sure, unless you follow US College hockey, which thankfully I do. The kid was in the running for the Hobey Baker and led the NCAA in scoring last year so he shouldn't be a complete unknown.

To me, I see a solid 3rd line players and maybe a fringe 2nd line guy. He's an excellent passer and really controlled the play well on the PP, so I can see PP2 in the NHL. He's got sandpaper to his game too. He needs to shoot more though.

    I'm a fan.

So you see 35-50 for him depending where he slots? What's his max you figure?

Yeah so I got him and what should ultimately be a top 20-25 pick for next year's draft for Nick Leddy.

My only issue with Leddy is his inconsistency. 25 points in his first 37 games, followed up with 6 points in his last 19 games. He did the same thing last year, but was far worse in the latter half until the bubble, which come playoff time the season in my league has already ended. So who cares what guys do in the post season. Ultimately I needed a 1st rounder in the 2022 Draft and you sold me on the kid. Plus making the deal allows me to protect Shane Pinto, who I think can play onto the top-six in Ottawa and stick. Had 6 points in his final 7 games and looked great with Tim Stützle and Connor Brown.

Hard to say his production really. I do think he makes the league in a year or two but his overall production depends on his TOI and opportunity. As I say, I do think the kid is a fantastic passer so if they can get him some cast around him, he could be a 50pt guy. Playing in the bottom six, it's unlikely.

He compares favorably to wheeler. If his development leadshimto top six minutes with pptimei could see a few 65 point seasons in his prime...

This article by Scott Wheeler gave me a similar impression. Wheeler-lite. Biggest issue is opportunity with Vegas being so deep on the wing.

Dobbers prospect report on him this year is fairly favourable as well.

ideal nhl size , 6'2 , 190 . no idea what he'll become in the nhl but he's definately more of a playmaker judging by the goal/assist ratio (especially his college numbers)

10-23-33 in 37 gp's with Henderson is a nice progression from college to ahl. He had 3-1-4 in 5 playoff games too

when I played in more leagues he was just sitting there as a freebie pikup for the farm team (going back 2 seasons)

The deal you got is worth any gamble imo.

Dugan has lots of potential… not every star college player becomes good at NHL level but is worth while gamble IMO… 1 st rounder in next draft maybe worth Leddy alone.

    Well done imo

Herm I thought that was fairly conservative lol! "A couple 65 point seasons in his prime" equates basically to the equivalent of a duclair- type....
