He's Toronto's Matt Cullen when he played in Pittsburgh those final years. i really hope hes rewarded with a cup as hes still effective into his later years in limited mins. i say he gets to 1000 but not necessarily just in the next season since i think hes got 2-3 seasons more left in him haha

Love this guy. True loyalty, puts his money where his mouth is and one of the very few "has-been" signings who's actually worked out for the Leafs.

Fun fact - I used to see him all the time in Toronto at a local sushi joint in Yorkville where they named a roll after him the "Spezza Roll"

Good on Spezza. Despite what happened the Leafs are still a very good team. He'll have a shot.

A great player who has worked out his skating issues and returned to being effective in a bottom 6 and specialist role. I figure he will probably be one of the only old crumblys they bring back.

It's long been rumoured he's going into Leafs management after his career so not surprised he's doing them favours taking less. And he's made a lot of money in his career (closing in on 90m).
