It's funny to me this stuff. I usually tend to go with "as long as what you said at the time wasn't bad, I can't fault you too much now for it". As long as you learn from it too.

I understood the point you making, but wasn't entirely sure of why/if you felt offended for her saying that. If your daughter wasn't of the age yet to relate to the joke then I could understand a distaste for it (from you). Not necessarily meaning its offensive, but not appropriate for the situation.

If you are just offended because what she said didn't describe you - that's being a snowflake.

^I think it's not the right place for a joke like that.

I'm a bit socially awkward when it comes to jokes like that in a professional setting. I work in a more older workplace (male dominated) and I've never enjoyed the jokes some guys make because it's just a subject I don't wanna joke about with people I consider employees and I wouldn't be comfortable with my kids teacher joking about that. I wouldn't approach the teacher and voice my feelings on a joke like that because it's not a big deal for me, but if I was asked I would answer with "don't joke around like that".

I also kinda find those jokes are used to breakdown a wall of professionalism and try to become buddy buddy. But there's some instances I don't want that. One is workplace and the other would be my kids school. I don't want to be friends with my kids teacher, and I would like there to be no emotional attachment so if you aren't doing something it's easier for me to voice that. These sexual jokes are meant (to me) to break down that professionalism wall.

Absolutely. We do evolve. Remember, we used to smoke on airplanes and in hospitals in that era as well?

That went as far as the 90s haha.

Fun fact, in Ontario, you couldn't smoke in Hospitals but you could smoke in a hospital elevator at one point.

They introduced 'smoking' rooms in the '80's too.

Oh smoking, what a weird time. Smoking and non-smoking sections in restaurants and planes with really no blockage between each sections.

The ultimate "time changes things" example.

A friend of mine does tend to get angry at people who are offended by these things and regularly loses his mind tossing out insults of “snowflake” and “fragile”. The last time he did this was because of the Edmonton Eskimos changing their name. He went on a rant about the “snowflakes” to the point where I told him I thought he was being silly. I ended up saying to him “So you are offended by the people who are offended? That’s kind of like being a snowflake about the snowflakes, isn’t it?”

Those who invoke the snowflake insult are most likely the bigger snowflake. They always fail to understand the irony of their 'outrage'

It's either that or they are calling out someone's uneducated thought.
