I'm an avid reader with several authors I really like - guys like Brad Thor, John Gilstrap, Vince Flynn, Jack Mars, Lee Child, James Patterson & Clive Cussler. Obviously my taste in books are fictional thrillers.

I also subscribe to Bookbub.com - a great place to download free or cheap books from authors you might not have heard of before but they write some pretty good novels. A nice feature of bookbub is you can customize it to your individual tastes and you can receive daily emails of book deals.

Currently I'm reading on of my favourites - Brad Thor's Back Lash.

So what is the Dobber community reading??? Let us know who your favourites are and which authors we might want to check out if you enjoy a good read.

Currently reading: Battle Cry of Freedom by James M. McPherson. Comprehensive U.S. Civil War history.

Favorite read of the pandemic: Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. Holy cats, what an amazing book. Adventurous, funny, sad, gigantic, intimate, all in one. Runners up: Blood Meridian, The Power Broker, Station Eleven.

Favorite authors: John LeCarre, Michael Lewis, and Thomas Pynchon.

I like a lot of the same writers as you. The first thing I would suggest is the Amos Decker series by Baldacci. It's awesome. Start with the first one (Memory Man). I am certain you will love it based on the writers you gravitate towards.

I'm currently reading Helter Skelter by Vince Bugliosi... it was written decades ago and is about the Manson Family murders. Bugliosi was the prosecutor of the case- so it's extremely detailed, factual, and quite captivating. It's long, but definitely the gold standard of true crime writing if you're into that.

I recently finished Summer of Night by Dan Simmons. Really enjoyed it -- think of a coming-of-age story like Stand by Me combined with Stephen King horror vibes.
