Id prefer Larkin. I think we have seen the best of Trocheck but we havent of Larkin.

Can you wait until we know more about Trocheck's injury? It seems like he may have re-injured his ankle on which he got surgery a couple years ago.
If it's an unrelated injury, I would pick him. While it's true that we may not haven't seen the best of Larkin yet, I'm not sure when that will happen. Trocheck has a better supporting cast around him and he is almost assured to put up more points as long as he keeps his spot on the PP1.
In a win now situation, I would go with Trocheck. Just keep an eye on his injury.
Larkin for me. Take the time to go to frozen tools and compare these two. Very interesting results. This past year, Trocheck, easily. But, look at the three year comparison. Larkin, easily. Larkin is still only 24, he is about to enter his prime and the Red Wings are rebuilding around him and they will be way better very soon. The Canes are not built around Trocheck, far from it. He's a good complimentary player when he is having a good year which he has only had 2 in his 8 year career. Further his contract will be up after next year and a return to the Canes is far from a given. Larkin remains with the Wings for the next 2 years. Too many con's for Trocheck and too many pro's for Larkin IMO. Larkin.

I'm really starting to wonder about Larkin and just how much more we'll see from him. I'm not sold that he ever gets to that level fantasy GMs are expecting.
I prefer Trocheck.

DBOSS... he's only one injury riddled season away from a good year. Last season he had 28 points in his last 30 games. One plays on an awful team and lost his best linemate, the other linemate struggled, what does he do? The other one in this deal comes from playing on a great team... what did Trochek do before that? Don't say that 76 point season. That was years ago. They are 24 and 28 in age. I'll always go for the younger guy with the bigger upside. If you can produce 73 points in 76 games as a 22 year-old on a bad team, you know there is something special there.
For those not in the know, Dboss is Larkin. :P
I am a hockey obsessed fiend.
Thanks, rep'd where I could.
Pretty much where my head was at.
Basically the same player in terms of floor and ceiling, but the edge going to Larkin in age and health.
I've got a deal in the works to move Trocheck & R.Suzuki for Huberdeau but wanted to get some outside opinions before the deal was done.

Dang, Trocheck and Ryan Suzuki for Huberdeau is gross and I don't know why the Huberdeau owner would entertain that trade. But hey, if you can make it happen, good on ya!
