I'm considering trading for Jack Hughes and Brady Tkachuk plus some prospects.

Do you see a good deal here? Should I hold onto Draisaitl with my roster? Blue chippers like him don't come along every day.

LOL I traded Aho and Gaudreau for Draisaitl and since regretted it. Not because he's not great, but he commands a huge price. I definitely overpaid. Find someone like me that will make that kind of deal and you'll win.

Honestly, I don't even know if that's really an overpay. Or at least not one you should be regretting! You got a top drawer superstar. If I were the OP I'd be looking for at least what you paid, and probably a bit more (add a top prospect and a 1st or something).

You have a very nice looking young team, lots of guys who will start contributing as early as next year. What you don't have in abundance is a core of elite NHLers. Draisaitl is an elite NHLer. Unless, as others have already stated, someone is going to seriously over pay, then you hold onto the best player on your team. Further, the return should include bona fide NHLers in combination with a few prospects. You don't need more guys on your farm, you need guys on your roster, like, from a previous post, Aho and Johnny Hockey, guys who will produce now. It's nice to have prospects in the pipeline but all too often GM's go way to far and the result is they are in a perpetual rebuild while others are winning championships with the right combination of veterans and youth. So, see what you can get, but if you are going to move Draisaitl you need quality coming back, not quantity.
