Default Top forwards in 2021 draft?

In my dynasty league I will be picking somewhere between 1st-3rd overall, and I need to target a high end forward prospect with that pick.

From what I’ve been reading there’s a few Dman that are topping the draft rankings this year, but it’s somewhat all over the map for the forwards. Who would you target of these players?

    - Matthew Berniers
    - Mason McTavish
    - William Eklund
    - Dylan Guenther

    Or someone else?
    League 1: 16 Teams. 8 Keepers. Weekly H2H
F (Start 6): Barkov, J.Hughes, Zibanejad, E. Kane, Buchnevich, Kopitar, Coyle, Trocheck
D (Start 4): Josi, Hamilton, Toews, Hanifin, Pionk, Clarke, Korchinski
    G (Start 1): Vasilevskiy, Daccord

    Point System
    G=2, A=1, D-man G/A=+1, PIM=0.5, +/-=0.5, Shot=0.1, PPG=1, PPA=1
    Goalie Points
    W=4, S= 0.14, GA=-1, OvertimeW=1, ShootOutW =1, ShutOut=2

League 2: 12 Team Dynasty League - 30 man roster plus 7 farm.
Keep 20 + 7 farm. Weekly H2H Roto. G, A, Shots, Hits, Blocks, PPP, Goalie W, SV%, GAA. Forward Positional Requirements.

From what I have read so far... Guenther is the one I would be choosing first of the forwards.

Guenther (6-1, 175), an elite goal scorer with quickness, scored 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists), including six power-play points (two goals, four assists) in 12 Western Hockey League games. He scored seven points (four goals, three assists) in seven games at the U-18s. He led first-place Canada with 34 shots on goal and tied for the lead with two power-play goals and two game-winning goals

Johnson and Lysell would be other 2 i would target....Johnson is very explosive....firsts today NHL play style well. Lysell has possibly highest upside from anybody in this years class but there are some off ice issues so i think he will slip..

I think you should look at the last 2 drafts and see who is not owned. Saying this because I’m thinking guys like newhook at 16 in 2019 or Rossi at 9 in 2020 I think I’d take over any 2021 forwards.

    Guenther,
    Johnson
    Eklund
    Beniers

I have all really close right now in a first tier of F's. Not sure I'd put McTavish or Lysell in that grouping myself.

Agreed, and guys like that won’t be far away from contributing next year.

I’ll have a look, but a lot of those types of guys (general top prospects from that last couple drafts) are all owned already on the Farm teams.

My personal ranking based on upside:

    Eklund
    Guenther
    Johnson
    Lysell
    McTavish
    Berniers

In all honesty, though, I don't think anyone really knows what to expect from the 2021 group. It was a messed up season and many of the prospects didn't play enough and weren't able to showcase their skills properly. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if my list is utterly inaccurate when we look back on the draft in 3 years.

    Defense: J. Morrissey, A. DeAngelo, S. Gostisbehere, D. Doughty

    Bench: M. Rossi, C. Glass, M. Maccelli, M. Dumba, K. Shattenkirk, F. Andersen
Prospects of Note: L. Stankoven, J. Lekkerimaki, D. Yurov, B. Clarke

to me he is Jordan Staal type...i think he maybe first guy from this class to make it but to me offensive upside just isnt there to choose him as high as he will go in NHL.

similar thought process most people take when drafting Dman for fantasy
