NHL "Playoff" Hockey

I've definitely been watching less and it has definitely been getting worse.

It's a joke. The Preds/Detroit thing has exposed the issue to people who know penalties but just accepted "NHL Playoff Rules".

It's such an embarrassment but the league doesn't have enough fans in the states to yell they want change for them to listen. Until a large market NHL states based team loses a game 7 due to a missed penalty, I doubt anything happens.

From what I've read, it's getting worse instead of better.

I’ve barely watched any hockey for like two years now, for this very reason. So yes.

I've barely watched any this year. I don't know what it is, but I just have zero interest this year.

I don't if I'm more connected this year or what but I've noticed a lot more articles and analysts voicing opinions on the lack of calls made this postseason. I saw one quote (can't remember where) after Bieksa called out the officiating on HNIC that said something like "you know it's bad when the people on HNIC are talking about it".

It's bad, and people on twitter talk about it, and then media talks about it, then it gets picked up more on twitter and then it gets talked about in the media, then it gets picked up more on twitter and then it gets talked about in the media, then it gets picked up more on twitter and then it gets talked about in the media...

It's a snowball effect.

Honestly - it'd be better if the maelstrom of media/twitter scrutiny were focused on the allegations recently leveled at the Chicago Blackhawks organization. That's real life and really alarming. Complete crap biased officiating is troublesome, but at the end of the day it's just crap biased officiating and hasn't really hurt anyone.

If I'm watching the intermission shows, I'm like half paying attention if that, but I haven't heard them talk about that AT ALL. Which is horrifying at the idea the NHL has instructed that and is again trying to sweep it under the rug after the team swept it under the rug when it happened.
