Default Off-season Trade and 21-22 Draft Targets

With everyone's leagues being different in terms of salary caps, total number of keepers/teams, and league settings/stats I thought it would be a fun way to pass the next few months sharing ideas on who people are looking to target in trades this off-season and as we all prep for our drafts who are your top targets in your cap league and why?!

Currently I am in a rebuild so I have my eyes on players with the potential to thrive in 2-3 years. Looking into guys like Sandin, Oettinger, Heinola, and Laine. I am new to the salary cap world so learning as I go but being in a rebuild allows me to learn as I take chances on younger talent on ELC's and Laine will be dependent on situation and contract but still so young and can finish. Also helps he was dropped this year so will be available!

I am new to the cap world but there are obvious targets to me like Adam Fox, Martin Necas, Jason Robertson, Kirby Dach who are all still on ELCs.

I am also really interested in trying to get Chycrun who broke out this year and is a great contract with some term.

It's a different world in salary cap leagues but I am really getting into it and love it! Unfortunately all of those players are owned in my league and most likely will be keepers but you never know so always keep my eye on players like them! I was lucky enough to acquire Chychrun this year!

if you're in a rebuild and can take on bad contracts, negotiate with other teams to take on a bad player but get a sweetener such as a great prospect/player. Do what Vegas/Seattle did. Capped out teams competing are teams to target, but don't take on a contract that has too much term!
    Team 1:
J Hughes, Cooley (r), Bratt, Laine, M Tkachuk, Necas, A Svechnikov, S Jarvis, M Michkov (r), W Johnston, Zegras, Giroux, Norris, Couturier, B Jenner, T Krug, Burns, M Weegar, Werenski, Sergachev, B Clarke (r), Theodore, Sorokin , Oettinger, Askarov (r), Ersson
    12 teams, No salary cap
Keep 14 plus 4 rookies (under 150 GP) max 18 players
    Scoring: G (1), A (1), +/- (0.25), H (0.1), B(0.1), PIM (0.1), SOG (0.1), GWG (1), PPP (1), SHP (1),
    Goalies: W (2), SO (3), GA (-0.5), OTL (1), SV (0.1)

That's a good way of looking at it and other great idea for my team next season.

I'm in leagues usually that use all cats, so I've always been aching to get my hands on Brady Tkachuk who is as consistent as you can get across the board. His contract is up this year, so we will see what he will get, but I always target him in any league I'm in. Have yet to get him.

    A few random thoughts:

Vrana- was a 5oish type player who literally just needed more icetime to procuce (hypothetically). Well he got that plus the boost of a new tam and vitually no competetion for topline/pp1 time. Hes a ppg since trade and likely still being drafted/treated like a 50ish point payer. Some people have aid hes got kucherov-ite type upside.

Seguin/Klefbom/Teuvo- all guys coming off injury who should bounceback nicely.

Tippett/IsLANDER YOUNG GuY (BRAIN IS FARTING- THE CENTER WHOSE A BIT OF A HOT DOG??)- anyways they both had sneaky good second half/playoffs. Both could be 60ish pint guys by next year. EDIT: Beauvillier

Duclair!! My boy- I think hes on his way to 70 point seasons within two years in his prime.

Glass- Hes riskir but they need to make a decision on what he is. He was on a 40ish type pace this year- so 55ih not a crazy idea for next year.

pULIJARVI- Wont hit his prime for one or two more years likely but shuld be easy to pencil in for 55ish this year. 70 point multicat beast in his prime-- its coming!

Shea Theodore could be a fantastic cap league target. Owners could be discouraged by his slow start to the playoffs and cold streak to end the regular season. Still only 25 and on a great contract. I personally see Theodore as a top 5 fantasy D man so getting him long term personally has been incredible.
12 team deep keeper league, 17 main roster players, 5 prospect players, max 2 goalie keepers for the main roster. point breakdown goes as follows:
    Skaters:
G is 4 points, 5.2 points for D goals. A is 2.5 points, 3.25 points for defense. 0.07 per FOW, 0.2 points for blocks, hits, and SOG 0.5 points for PIMS and +/-, 3 for SHG, 1.5 for SHA.
    Goalies:
GS is 1.5 points, -1 for GA, 0.2 for SV, 4 for SHO, and 3 for W.

There is the obvious. But then, we need to go in a bit deeper. I would suggest you take a look at the names that are a little less shiny and have a look at AHL! AHL rookie of the year winners for example. There are plumbs to be had if you do the work! In a CAP league this is particularly important. Draft Targets? Suggest you go outside the box.
