It's the Pirates, that's why. He brain farted when Baez ran the other way because that's not normal. The guy playing first has like 15 MLB games under his belt and 26yrs old (like 115innings?). Yaaaa...I dunno lol. Pirates record could be 40-120 at the end of the yr and I wouldn't be shocked.

That was extremely smart base-running by Baez.
The 1st baseman should have been better and knew what to do - Look back the runner at third and then take a couple steps back and touch his bag.
But as someone mentioned he is young and probably got caught up in the moment. I bet that first basement has made that play before in lower levels.

lol, i was thinking the same thing, but i guess in the moment he was like "WTF is this? Ah damn now what, do i run em down? Can he even do this? Ahhhh $hit i gotta do something!"
