Default Keep One - Fox vs Dahlin

Does the Sabres rebuild around Dahlin? Does Dahlins comparison of Auston Mathews come out next year with him being the go to guy? Was Fox just carried by elite forwards? Will the 1st overall player finally be able to play to his style under a new coach?

I drafted Dahlin and want to write off this horrible year as a fluke and bad team circumstances.. Is he better for the future over Fox??

    Would really appreciate any feedback.

    Thanks in advance fellas!

Fox wins this in a landslide for me. Not taking anything away from Dahlin, who is a very good player. I just wouldn’t want any part of Buffalo at the moment. Waiting for them to rebuild around Dahlin will be a waste of time. Fox has arrived, and will not be looking back. Easy choice.

Agree. Fox has shown everything we wanted in Dahlin. And Buffalo is going back for another rebuild while the Rangers might steal Eichel.

I think Dahlin is a bit more talented than Fox, the team situations makes me choose Fox as well. Buffalo is (and will be) a dumpster fire for years and Dahlin's potential could be wasted.

Agree, Dahlin is better overall but Buffalo isn’t.

I am a big Dahlin fan but it would be impossible to keep him over Fox, their circumstances are polar opposites.

Fox. Situation is better and he is a better defenseman right now. Yes Dahlin has the pedigree, but if you drop ELITE realized talent for potential, you are going to have a fun, extended rebuild and no league wins

Default Re: Keep One - Fox vs Dahlin

Nothing against Dahlin, but there is no reason to take him over Fox. Fox is an elite option (always has been) and is getting full opportunity on a high-scoring team. Dahlin is also an elite talent, but until something changes with Buffalo, I wouldn't consider taking him over Fox.

With young dmen, you have to look at talent and situation. Fox has both going for him right now. No reason to take anyone else over him, outside of Makar or Hughes.

    Talent: Dahlin >> Fox
    Situation: Fox >>>> Dahlin

I'd go fox between the two considering the situation with NY vs Buf, but I do think the opportunity to buy low on Dahlin right now is HUGE. If someone is patient, he will likely be the next Karlsson (of 2013-2017... not today's Karlsson). If you can move someone else for Fox, I would do that first. Dahlin still looks to be a top keeper on your team.

    Most keeper D are situational.

Buffalo has very limited set of good situations when it comes to defense.

Dahlin does have the potential right now to be better than Fox when it comes to fantasy, but man, doesn't seem like it'll be in Buffalo.
