Default Zadina or N. Robertson long term? REP

I have a GM interested in my Nick Robertson for his Zadina. I think Robertson has higher potential but Zadina is locked in to a top 6 spot, albeit with underwhelming results. Thoughts?

Yes I’d keep Robertson. Detroit is still a few years away. Dallas will be much better next year with all the issues they had this year behind them. Robertson is a complete player. Zadina is more of a goal scorer. I prefer Robertson.

I was talking about Nick Robertson, not Jason. I also have Jason, but no way in hell I’m trading him.

Keep Nick. He'll be lining up with a vastly superior supporting cast and should have a roster spot locked up for the full year next season. As mentioned above, Zadina & the Wings will take some more time to round out.

I like Roberston better. He has a better ceiling playing in Toronto

Slightly going with Zadina here. He will be a big piece of a talented team within 2-3 years. I think he will be given every opportunity to succeed. Robertson seems like he will be a good player too but just think he might be stuck in the bottom 6 or worse for a while. Top 4 are set, can he crack the top 2 lines? I just think Zadina will be a more dynamic player. Good luck

Opportunity is a huge factor and I think that's the case here. I just don't see Robertson in the top six unless there is a rash of injuries. Zadina on the other hand should see top six minutes, the chances of that happening is significantly more likely than is the case with Robertson IMO. Simple as that. As always, there's risk here, but I'll take my chances on the guy with the better opportunity and I think that's Zadina. Now the other Robertson ... different story (:

I agree with this. Opportunity is a huge factor. I don't believe that Robertson will get much of an opportunity compared to Zadina.

    Zadina for me.
He's already the best shot-option on the DET PP1.
Probably Larkin/Zadina/Vrana/maybe-Raymond for next year's forwards.
If Detroit stinks bad enough - they could also be adding a 2022 super-kid.
I think DET's electric PP1 time will come.

Robertson is going to have to displace one of Matthews/Marner/Tavares/Nylander.
I'm not sure I see that happening. Even if he does get onto the PP1, he's not the top trigger man.
