Pastrnak vs Rantanen

Throwing this out there for discussion. Who do you prefer? My league's stat cats are G, A, +/-, PPP, PIM, HIT, BLK. But open to more general discussion, beyond specific league cats.

Pastrnak had a better year last year, but Rantanen clearly was better this year. Who do you like better? And who would be more inclined to trade, or trade for?

I have Pasta in my dynasty and if the Rants owner offered me this, I would be very tempted. I love Pasta, I think he and Rantanen are very close in value but longer term I prefer Rantanen I think. He will be in a better situation playing on an Avs team alongside MacKinnon for years to come. I don’t love what Boston has on the horizon with Bergeron and Marchand getting older, and I don’t think Boston has the talent pool to remain competitive beyond the next few years.

Both are solid players you can’t go wrong with. I lean slightly towards Rantanen though.

Pastrnak perhaps is the better goal scorer of the two, and Rantanen has a higher point ceiling.

But Rantanen certainly isn’t a slouch in the goal scoring department and proved that this year. So that, along with the strength of Colorados roster, is why I think he’s the better bet.

Agree with above, hard to go against Pasta but the outlook is better in Colorado.
