This may be the case. OGM is a friend so likely will have a discussion but it is feeling too steep a price likely to warrant a trade.

I would probably go after AM instead and leverage Pasta to try and get it done close to 1-1 value. A year ago OGM probably does trade AM 1-1.

I have pondered this a good deal to be honest. Have leaned away from this trade as they are only roughly a year in age apart, both seem to have injury issues to some extent so feels a wash there. This season is the first season of the last three that Matthews has been more valuable than Pasta in our league, and he plays a deeper position. But Matthews owner is a hugeeee bruins fan so if I could actually get a little extra for Matthews I might do it, but otherwise I think I will stay the course...but the value is definitely close.

I was told by my league, I couldn't make my original deal for Leon Draisaitl, because the return wasn't enough. Martin Necas, Timo Meier, Roman Josi, and Ethan Bear for Leon Drasaitl and Jacob Slavin. btw The GM originally offered me Draisaitl for Necas and Meier. I didn't think the league would accept so I countered him with a better offer for his end (who does that nowadays?! No one!), and said I'll add Josi and Bear if you add Slavin.

That deal was turned down, the co-Commish then threatened me in a private message weeks later, and a day later this deal was made, his Anze Kopitar, Morgan Rielly, Kirill Kaprizov, and Reilly Smith for the other guy's Connor McDavid, Josh Norris, and Jacob Muzzin.

Would need to know the league settings and scoring to know the value of some of those guys, especially the D-men. But, both a big underpays in my book.

btw Dmen get 15 pts for a goal vs. dmen. The difference between Muzzin and Rielly doesn't offset it enough... in fact this season it's a dead heat.

Think Kucherov this year. Some sacrificed their whole year and sold away all their assets for Kucherov, just so they can own him for upcoming years. That's when i would strike for McDavid.

Except Kucherov isn't McDavid or close. He had one 128 point season which he won't even come close to replicating again. He's a safer bet for 100 points. Malkin at 34 last year had a higher point-per-game rate.
